| Frank Booker was nominated for Squad Member of the Month. In response to this recognition, Frank said, "I’m thankful to receive this award, but I share this recognition with every first responder who answers the call, day or night, and puts others before themselves. Serving alongside such an amazing group of people is an honor in itself." Sandie Hicks has been nominated as Officer of the Month in recognition of her ongoing support and leadership within the Rescue Squad. Sandie was recently re-elected as Vice President of the LPVRS Associates, a group that manages all fundraising activities for the department. She has served in this role for 13 years. Sandie is known for her willingness to help with any task and always approaches each situation with a positive attitude. She consistently supports the President and Chief of the squad without hesitation. Sandie became involved with the Rescue Squad in 2011 after seeing her husband and daughter volunteer as operational members. She chose to join as an Associate, preferring to contribute her skills without riding in the ambulance. Prior to this, Sandie gained volunteer experience with another organization while living in Florida. One of Sandie’s favorite aspects of being part of the squad is the friendships she has developed over the years. Outside her work with the rescue squad, Sandie is an avid Disney fan, though not many people are aware of her passion for all things Disney. Congratulations to both Frank and Sandie for jobs well done, and to all of our volunteers for everything you do for our rescue squad and our community. As Frank said, "ALL OF YOU ARE AN AMAZING GROUP OF PEOPLE," and our community is very fortunate to have each and every one of you. |
