By Associate Secretary Cathy Miller
February 23, 2026

It doesn’t go without saying how much we appreciate what our membership does for our community but also for the care of our buildings. It is greatly appreciated when all of our members pitch in and give that added “love” to them when on or off duty.

This was brought to the attention of our President, Patricia Davidson and she wanted to show the camaraderie of everyone working together. On Friday February 20, 2026 DES and volunteer crews came together to give Stations 39 and 38 cleanings. We wanted to take this opportunity to point out how well our 2 families mesh together not only on the 911 calls but in our houses together sharing our living quarters. Pat notes teaming together whether on a call or taking care of our "home" builds and that it does. Taking out trash, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and scrubbing to make our Stations shine bright and smell beautifully. Our buildings are our 2nd homes when you “run” a 12 or 24 hour shift.

Special thank you to the DES crew that got called to Station 39 from Station 49 (RVRS)
K. Rogers and M. Owens, to fill in. They super cleaned the kitchen area, counter tops, the refrigerator and took out the trash… When our 39 volunteer crew David, Monica, Donna and Chris O. returned they got in action and took care of bathrooms and trash from both floors.

Station 38 crew’s were just as busy when our volunteer crew returned Linda M., Sherri and Madyson walked back in and jumped right in with helping the 38 DES crew to get mopping, dusting, cleaning countertops and trash done.

With amazing teamwork like this it doesn’t take long to get things done and then we can all sit back relax and enjoy each other’s company.
