| Robert Clinton has been nominated Member of the Month for September. He joined the squad in June 2026 and currently serves as a driver and crew member. When asked about his role, Rob said, "I'm best at administering diesel therapy." He shared that what initially attracted him to LPVRS was the friendly atmosphere and welcoming people, particularly mentioning Shawn as someone who made a strong impression. Rob considers his biggest accomplishment since joining the rescue squad to be expanding his knowledge of the medical field and working alongside EMTs and paramedics. He values the learning opportunities he has gained by observing and participating in their work.
Rob’s favorite aspect of LPVRS is the sense of family. He felt immediately accepted and was able to complete his training and achieve his desired position. Robert noted that the family-like environment is a common sentiment shared by many members during interviews. He emphasized that LPVRS truly feels like a family. One of his most memorable experiences with the squad was working at a football game where he had to be in two places at once, making the night particularly exciting.
When asked to share something interesting that few people know about him, Rob revealed that he was once involved in a motorcycle accident and was assisted by the Lexington Park Rescue Squad. Outside of the squad, Rob and his wife enjoy taking their family out on their boat and exploring the local area. He describes these outings as a great way to spend quality time together.
In giving advice to his younger self, Rob said he would have joined the squad sooner. If approached by someone interested in volunteering, he would encourage them to join, highlighting the high level of patient care provided by the squad. Like most members, Rob holds a professional job outside the squad and works on the naval base. He also volunteers with Company 6 and hopes to inspire some of his children to become involved in volunteering.
The squad is also pleased to announce that Bridget Wimberly has been named September Officer of the Month. Her peers have once again recognized her for her dedication to the community, the rescue squad, and the overall success of the membership. Bridget joined LPVRS in October 2010 as a teenager and managed to balance her squad responsibilities with high school, college, and full-time work for St. Mary’s County. She has served as an officer for several years and is well known for her support of new members. Her dedication and leadership continue to make her a valuable asset to our organization.
