I was stationed there in the Navy back in 1984 and 1985. I rode third party while in EMT school. Part way thru the Navy transferred me to an horrible place called Hawaii. I tuffed it out and was transferred to Tennessee where I got out. I went back to EMT and then Paramedic School. I got my Medic in 1992. It has been a ride this life I thought I had chosen but now know it was a calling from God. Just to give an idea how much you folks have grown since then, here is what was going on in 1985:
LPVRS had only 2 ambulances, one van and one box.
There was only one station.
There were a whole lot less folks back there who would volunteer.
A hurricaine bounced off the coast, causing flooding, including the back floorboard of my car.
Joe Thiesman broke is leg and the news kept playing it over and over again.
I remember being in the box unit, going to Baltimore, when the driver hydroplaned, went thru a median, into oncoming traffic, made a left turn, a u-turn and then back to Baltimore we went. Had to wash sod off the roof when we got back.
This prepared me to stay calm after we hit a Beefalo in 2003 doing 75 mph, and rolling to out side. We all got out ok.

I remember then Gardiners, the Davidsons, Russell, JoAnn Payne, Suzi Dean, but my memory combined with meeting people with similar names has me confused as you else put up with me.

I hope finds all of you well,

Be safe and thanks again,
Henry Brainard

Thank you ALL SO VERY MUCH for helping my daughter Natasha and baby Carlos on Thursday the 7th at Rt 4 and Rt 235. They were in a terrible accident and thank to God that they virtually walked away with only minor injuries. Another thank god to seat belts and the baby's car seat. I cant tell you how much I appreciate all the good work your crew did to help Natasha and especially the baby feel so safe and taken care of. It was a terrible experience for such a young mother. Your staff treated her with such kindness she felt like she could have been in no better hands.
I am hoping that the other driver has taken to heart his mistake and that all involved count their blessings everyday !!! I sure do. I cant thank you enough and so does all of the McDougal Family.

Just dropping everyone a note and saying congrats on getting the new ambulance 387, it does look very sharp. Things are going good for me in the army. Im still in AIT for about 3 more weeks and then i have orders to korea for a year. My job in the army is a forward obsever, meaning i find the target and tell them what to blow up. I hope to come up to maryland for a day or so before i go overseas to stop in and see everyone and maybe run a call. I never realized how much i miss it. I do have a email address that is james.m.dupuis@hotmail.com and i will send my army one once i figure it out.
take care and keep up the good work

I, sometimes, miss the calls and friends I made over the years. But don't miss the calls in the middle of the night.

Most of the old timers will remember - - Do you have a back up number? Sure, (as my phone was ringing) try 862-4003

Best of luck to all in 2007.

If you are ever in South Carolina, give Reggie and I a call. 843-569-0293
